Community Events - 2020 Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Parade Event Volunteer
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is a multicultural, multi-service agency assisting people at all stages of their Canadian experience.
The organization is recognized as one of British Columbia's largest social service providers. With over 20 locations, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. proudly services local communities in Greater Vancouver, Fort St. John and overseas in Guangzhou and Beijing, China and Seoul, Korea. Through advocacy, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is also recognized as a prominent voice of positive social change.
We are now accepting volunteers for our annual Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Parade! Come join over 3000 participants to celebrate the Lunar New Year in the heart of our Chinatown community. As one of our 200 volunteers, you will be part of a dynamic and hardworking team that will play an integral role in making our 2020 Chinatown Spring Festival Parade a success!
This is the volunteer role for the parade only, to sign up for the cultural fair, please sign up here.
Duties: Set-up, crowd control, on-site helper with multiple duties, clean-up, etc.
Number of volunteers needed: 200
Event Day: January 26, 2020 (Sunday)
Shifts for the event are below:
Volunteer Online Orientation: January 22nd or 23rd 2020, 6PM - 7PM
Dress Code: please dress warmly with no open-toed shoes (preferably sneakers) on the event day
Please sign up for shifts that will work well with your schedule. You will be assigned to one of the following volunteer roles depending on your availability and the needs of the parade team:
- Volunteer Registration and Central Dispatch
- Parade Team Registration and Lost Child Station
- General Affairs and Pace-keeping
- Zone Watchers
- Choy Cheng Zone Enforcers
