Delivery Assistant
Commitment: up to 5 hours weekly or biweekly for a minimum of 2 months
Days/Times: Thursdays, 12 - 5 pm or 1:30 - 2:30 pm
Location: The SEED’s Fresh Food Warehouse (69 Huron St)
About The SEED:
The SEED is a not-for-profit food access program of the Guelph Community Health Centre that was created in 2015 by a coalition of community organizations and individuals.
The SEED delivers community programs and operates social enterprises that address the causes and effects of food insecurity. We are working towards a community with no barriers to healthy food.
Duties:
- Ride along on routes in The SEED’s delivery vehicles
- Assist with loading various delivery vehicles
- Unload grocery orders and deliver directly to households and pick-up hubs
- Interact with community members and customers in a friendly manner
Skills Required:
- Attention to detail, punctual, and reliable
- Respectful attitude, including patience and flexibility
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team
- Able to follow directions closely
- Commitment to equity and anti-oppressive practices
- Show initiative and enthusiasm
- Able to lift up to 50lb consistently
