Shelldale Greeter
Shelldale Greeters greet, confirm appointments, and redirect as needed. This would be a great fit for someone with a background or interest in medical secretary work. Task lists, working hours, and working locations will be reviewed regularly to ensure this is a meaningful and helpful role for volunteers, clients, and staff. Based on Public Health requirements, changes may need to be made on short notice. Volunteers will be notified ASAP when these changes occur.
Volunteers are asked to review and abide by policies and procedures put in place by the GCHC. Pandemic requirements for screening and staying home if unwell.
Based on skills, interests, and needs, this role may include:
- Greet and welcome visitors and clients in a friendly manner
- Confirm client appointments; confirm if the appointment is in person or virtual
- Screen everyone coming in: ask COVID screening questions, take temperature
- Confirm phone number for clients and up-to-date health card number and version code
- Assess visitor and client needs and connect them with appropriate staff or support
- Assist with forms, applications, etc.
- Stay informed of current community resources
- Communicate with staff for support as needed
- Follow all record-keeping and evaluation processes as required
- Assist with the collection of health services surveys
- Assist main reception with client-related needs (handing out referrals, giving directions, doing reminder phone calls, etc.)
