The SEED - Upcycle Kitchen
Upcycle Kitchen is taking food meant for the landfill and “upcycling” it into delicious, nutrient-rich products. Over half the food produced in Canada is thrown out annually. Of that wasted produce, 1/3 of it is still perfectly fine to eat! This loss amounts to over 35 million tonnes of food wasted, 56 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, and 49 billion dollars down the drain!
The SEED is partnering with local farmers, suppliers, and businesses to reduce the amount of good food that winds up in landfills. All of our upcycled meals and products:
- Fight food waste
- Are community taste-tested
- Increase food access
Volunteer shifts are
- Wednesday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
- Thursday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
*** Evening and weekend shifts are not available.***
