Ruff Start Rescue

Summary: Donation Helpers play an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting Ruff Start Rescue’s daily operations by helping organize and manage donated supplies that directly support animals in care. This role primarily supports the transport room and donation areas to help keep supplies organized, stocked, and accessible for staff, fosters, and volunteers.

Donation Helpers assist with tasks such as recording donated supplies, sorting and putting away donations, restocking materials from storage, maintaining organized spaces, and assisting with additional projects as needed. The amount and type of tasks may vary from day to day.

This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy staying organized, working independently, and helping support rescue operations through hands-on projects and donation management.

Time Commitment: Shifts are available Monday through Friday and are either 10-12 pm or 2-4 pm.

Location: Princeton, MN

Reports to: Office Manager and Volunteer Manager

Responsibilities May Include:

• Help maintain a clean and organized transport room and storage areas

• Fill out in-kind donation slips

• Sort and put away donated supplies

• Pull supplies from storage and restock the transport room as needed

• Assist with cleaning and organizational projects

• Help with miscellaneous facility tasks and specialty projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Must be 16+

• Reliable transportation to Princeton, MN

• Ability to work courteously and cooperatively with all members of RSR and the public

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Respect for all people and animals

• Comfortable standing for extended periods, bending regularly, lifting 40+ pound packages, and being outdoors for short periods in various weather conditions

Training and guidance will be provided. We are happy to work with volunteers to find tasks that match their comfort level and abilities.
