Animal Photographer/Website Assistant (Great for a team!)
Website Assistant - Ages 13-15 (with an adult) or 16+ (Great to do as a team!) (Flexible shift!)
Website Assistant Volunteers help take beautiful pictures of our adoptable animals to display on our website. They have great patience to make sure they get the right picture. Volunteers use a click and point camera or a smart phone, some volunteers use their own phones. Smart phones work great for editing and cropping. After pictures are taken, volunteers will upload them to our website. There are times we may ask our website assistants to help with bathing pictures which take place in the morning. This position is a big job and some volunteers work together in teams. This is a great position if you have a friend or family member who wants to volunteer with you.
Skills Needed
- Volunteers must understand and be onboard with our client centered philosophy and approach; this includes approaching clients and situations without judgement. Volunteers must be committed to providing a welcoming environment for all clients and be capable of reading people and appropriately responding with verbal communication to ensure a comfortable client experience for all visiting the shelter. Volunteers must be enthusiastic and detailed-oriented.
- Volunteers must be able to read, write and effectively communicate with clients, volunteers and staff.
- The physical demands for this job include the following: walking, sitting, writing, reading, talking and hearing.
- It is also imperative that volunteers are computers savvy and as they will be editing and then uploading pictures into our PetPoint database.
- Volunteers must be comfortable using a cell phone with a camera to take pictures of animals.
- Volunteers must be comfortable handling cats, small animals, dogs and exotic animals and reading their body language.
- Volunteers must be able to read and understand signage and specific instructions for interacting with animals with various special needs.

Commitment/Age Requirement
Minimum of a 6 month commitment required.
Must be 13-15 years of age with an adult or 16+ on own.
