Objective

Create awareness of available animals at WHS shelters.

Share information on programs and services offered by WHS.

Duties

• Transport a featured animal to/from the TV station.
• Present the animal and a topic in fluent Spanish during a 2–3-minute segment.

Skills Needed

• Due to the 24/7, fast-paced nature of live television, it is imperative that presenters are reliable, punctual, and prepared.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Confidence in public speaking skills.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Required Training

• Watch general volunteer informational video.
• Apply for position.
• Meet & greet.
• Complete online & animal handling training videos.
• In person animal handling training.
• Training for media presenter position.

Commitment/Age Requirement

We ask for presenters to commit to at least one segment each month for a minimum of 6 months. Volunteers must be bilingual, fluent in Spanish, and at least 18 years old with a reliable vehicle.
