Daily Operations
All volunteers will be trained by an animal care staff member thoroughly on all tasks expected in this role. Volunteers must be comfortable and willing to handle or work closely with a variety of species. Staff are willing to work with volunteers with a fear of specific species if this is communicated from the volunteer when first getting involved. This role is a physical role, volunteers must be able to stand, stoop, bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds solo.
Volunteers fill crucial roles to support the wildlife care facility providing optimal care for our wild patients. Daily Operations volunteers are responsible for providing all forms of daily care in the animal care facility. Tasks may include helping with cleaning and sanitizing enclosures, food & water dishes, laundry, making meals, working with the public, sharing information about native wildlife, special projects around the facility, setting up new enclosure spaces, and much more.
