Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the City of Burleson! We appreciate your willingness to give your time and effort to serve our community. Please read the below regarding application requirements before submitting your application.

Volunteer Applications and Liability Release forms can be found on our website here. Completed and signed Liability Release forms should be uploaded to the placeholder on your account to proceed with the application process.

Volunteer applicants 18 years of age and older are required to complete the following:

- A Volunteer Application (18 years and older)

- Upload a completed and signed Liability Release form

Once we have received both the Volunteer Application (18 years and older) and Liability Release form, an approval link will be sent from AssureHire to complete a background check.

Volunteer applicants 14-17 years of age are required to complete the following:

- A Volunteer Application (14-17 years)

- Parent/guardian must complete and sign a Parental Consent Form (14-17 Years)

Please note: The Animal Shelter does not allow minors to volunteer without a parent or guardian accompanying them, and the adult must be in control of the animal at all times. Parents and children (14-17) must register separately. After processing your application, the Animal Shelter will have additional forms to complete prior to volunteering.

Volunteer applicants 13 years of age and younger are required to complete the following:

- A Volunteer Application (18 years and older) for the parent/guardian volunteering with the minor applicant

- Parent/guardian volunteering with the minor applicant must complete and sign a Liability Release form

- A Volunteer Application (Under 14 years) for the minor applicant

- Parent/guardian must complete and sign a Parental Consent Form (Under 14 Years)

Once we have received both the Volunteer Applications and both Liability Release forms, an approval link will be sent from AssureHire for the parent/guardian to complete a background check.

You will be notified by email when your application is approved and with details on how to begin your service. If you have any questions about volunteering with the City of Burleson, please reach out to sheath@burlesontx.com!

Mission Statement

Mayor's Proclamation for Volunteer Appreciation Week:

Whereas,   volunteering of an individual’s time and resources is an essential part of the American spirit; and

Whereas,   it is even more in evidence that Burleson’s greatest natural resource is its people; and

Whereas,   volunteers show every day through their actions that they truly care about their communities and the people who live in them; and

Whereas,   the voluntary sector is increasingly recognized as the third partner with government and business in building strong communities; and

Whereas,   we continue to rely on the efforts of volunteers to enrich our community, we call upon citizens to help renew and sustain the American spirit by committing themselves to address the needs of their communities through voluntary action.
