Autism Awareness at  the Ball Park includes:

  • Sensory break area
  • Reduced music levels
  • Awareness facts on the video board
  • Autism resources on the concourse

Join the Autism Society NWPA and the Erie SeaWolves

  • For a day of family fun

Volunteers are needed for the following: 

Registration table (12:30-1:30pm)

  • Responsible for checking in families
  • Handing out tickets
  • Banding children who will using the bounce house option
  • See information sheet with family seating instructions 
  • Return unclaimed tickets to will call

Merchandise and Information Table 

  • Responsible for selling autism merchandise (credit card processing possible) 
  • Provide information regarding upcoming events
  • Table opened from 12:30-4:30pm (hour shifts)

E. The Great Inflatable Race

The Great Inflatable Race is a fun run with inflatable obstacles spread throughout the running course. Everyone will feel like a kid again as they jump, dive and bounce on our custom-designed inflatables. Get fit, support a good cause and create epic memories that will last you a lifetime!

F. Annual Family Summer Picnic | Sunday, July 15, 2018

Annual Family Summer Picnic:

LOCATION:  Camp Sherwin | 8600 West Lake Road Lake City PA

We are in need of volunteers to help with our Annual Family Summer Picnic.   This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together!  You may also enjoy the facilities that Camp Sherwin has to offer.

We need helpers to unload cars, set up the venue, assist with registration, stock waters and other odd jobs, take down tables, chairs and clean up.

The picnic is from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  Harrington Hall will be available from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Families and volunteers are welcome to stay until Camp Sherwin closes to utilize the pool and facilities.

G. Lantern Fest

TLantern Festhank you for taking the first step to volunteer!  Lantern Fest is a three (3) day event and we will need your help to get it "off the ground."  We need volunteers for 5-hour shifts.  Each volunteer will received FREE parking, FREE Admission, and a FREE Lantern.

Please note:  Safety precautions are taken very seriously and will be put into practice by the local fire departments.  All clean up and safety regulations will be in place by all our volunteers.  The lanterns are exclusively sourced, 100% biodegradable, flame retardant with a limited burn time of less than 4 minutes.  They leave a very small footprint on the environment.  This will be a safe and spectacular event for families in our community.  

Friday Volunteering (12pm to 5pm)

Saturday Volunteering

  • Morning (9am to2pm)
    • Registration and Merchandise tent set up

Join the crew of Scallywags for a fun family adventure. Your adventure begins with dressing as a pirate, hoisting the colors, tattoo and face painting. Once underway, our pirate crew will teach you how to talk, sing and dance like a pirate. They will share the tales of Lake Erie and explain how the evil pirate Peg Legged Pete stole a chest of this fortune. The crew of Scallywags has been searching for Peg Legged Pete to reclaim the lost booty. If you are prepared, we can find him and get the treasure back on board. All guest pirates aboard "Scallywags" that assist with capturing the treasure will share in the booty, so keep your eyes open and be on the lookout for enemy pirates.

Scallywags' 16 water cannons are ready to fire when we enter battle during our journey. We will explore a couple of pirate hangouts, along the way, so be prepared! All crew and pirates should stand ready for battle.  Prepare yourselves for thrills, music, and treasure Aarrgghh.

 

Before the ship sets sail, we will need help registering guest and photographers for family photos.

It is often difficult for families to navigate the system of services and therapies in our community. The timeliness of any and all information regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders is especially pertinent to many consumers, their families, educators, healthcare professionals, and/or legal professionals with the alarming rise in autism related diagnosis in the last two decades.  Autism in Our Community Event provides information about the goods and services available to families influenced by and managing autism in their lives.  

We depend 100% on volunteers in run the conference in order to keep the admission at a nominal fee to cover lunch and free child care, making the event available to all families living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
