Volunteer Visitor
Through social contact, the volunteer will contribute purpose and value to the resident's life. The volunteer will stimulate the resident's interest and awareness of the outside world by bringing in skills and resources from the community into the facility. The Volunteer visitor will make the visits interesting by providing a variety ( ie going for walks, engaging with recreation activities, or facilitating other social activities.
Volunteer will need to use creativity and thought towards the development of a friendship. Set goals to achieve with the resident. Encourage and restore the residents faith in himself and his or /her dignity and self-worth.
Commitment: one shift (1-2 hours)/week for a minimum of 6 months
