East Harlem Scholars Academies Volunteer Opportunities

East Harlem Tutorial Program offers a variety of volunteer opportunities through our public charter schools. The volunteer opportunities in our East Harlem Scholars Academies range from providing students with homework help and assisting during lunch time and a number of different recreational activities. Volunteers support our scholars by preparing them for academic success, encourage their social enrichment, and help them gain the confidence they will need to succeed in college and in life. Scholars After-School Clubs - The learning and fun doesn’t stop when the school day ends for our scholars enrolled in our public-charters schools! Come support our elementary and middle school scholars in either academic or enrichment activities in their after-school clubs. 

Minimum Commitment: Once a week

When: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Fridays, 12:45 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Lunch & Playground Pals - Lunch and recess is the perfect time for our scholars to build community outside of the classroom! Volunteer to provide general lunchroom and recess time support to our elementary school scholars and engage with them in friendly conversations and play through structured activities. In addition to these responsibilities, volunteers support with early dismissal and running an enrichment club in the late pick-up room on Fridays. 

Minimum Commitment: Once a week

When: Mondays - Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
