Come out to volunteer at our 2026 Summer Reading Program Kickoff event! This year's theme is Howdy, Partner - Let's Read!
This extraordinary summer reading celebration helps encourage and foster a love of reading in our community! Volunteers will help hand out registration logs and prizes, and a special opening day surprise. This is an opportunity best suited for volunteers who love talking to people and being around children and families.
No advance training is necessary. Library staff members will show you how to help and will be present for ongoing support.
First time volunteering for Douglas County Libraries? Please email Sonia Bates to schedule a required new volunteer orientation before your first shift.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 4 days in advance to allow us time to find another volunteer to fill this important spot.

- What is your age range? Must be at least 14 years or older
