Welcome! The Community Ecology Institute has invested in a new volunteer management platform that will help us to enhance our collaboration with the hundreds of volunteers that we are grateful to work with each year! Whether you are an individual, family, Scout, school, community group or business, we are looking forward to welcoming you to Freetown Farm as a volunteer! We do need each volunteer to complete an application, which includes signing a waiver (even if you have signed it in the past). Thank you in advance for your helping hands and we can't wait to see you at the farm!
This would include tasks in our Market Garden and/or Grow It Eat It Garden, including weeding, mulching, seeding, planting, composting, and more! This is a great area to learn about what goes into maintaining the largest growing spaces on our farm!
The Maker Space at Freetown Farm supports personal and community resilience by providing a place for people to learn lost arts and skills that were commonly known several generations ago. The maker space is also home to the Repair Cafés, a grassroots movement that aims to reduce waste, overconsumption, and planned obsolescence. Maker Space programs foster an "I can do it" spirit and strengthen social cohesion.
WHAT WE NEED:
CEI's mission is to cultivate communities where people and nature thrive together!
