Programmatic - Program Lead- Game Days

Are you looking for a rewarding way to connect with your community? The Vineland Library is looking for an enthusiastic adult volunteer interested in leading  our Game On (For Teens) program Wednesday afternoons.

How You Will Make a Difference

Program Leads play a pivotal role in bringing  our teen community together and providing a safe and welcoming environment to engage with each other. Games offered include various boards and card games, various games on the Nintendo Switch, ping pong, and foosball.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Help set up before and clean up after the program, with staff assistance
  • Monitor the room environment to make sure that all program participants are having a fun, friendly and safe experience.
  • Help teens interact with each other in a cooperative manner as they work on their social and teamwork skills
  • Assisting with the Nintendo Switch, such as changing the game cartridges that are played and sometimes helping to connect controllers.

Commitment/Schedule

Willingness to volunteer at least once a week for a 6-month duration. Shifts will be Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 4:30pm (2.5hr shifts),

Event Agenda

2:00-2:30pm: setup

2:30-4:00: game program

4:00-4:30: cleanup

Prospective volunteers should:

  • Be comfortable in leading and engaging with new people 
  • Be dependable, punctual, and responsible
  • Be 18+ and complete a fingerprint background check, at no cost to you (required for all volunteers 18 years or older)

  • Age Must be at least 18+
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least High
