Office Assistance - Office Volunteer

Commitment: 1-2 hours/day, days are flexible

Timeline: Volunteers needed all year long, more hours may be needed in the fall

Location: 410 7th St, Brookings

Details: Support the office by exhibiting polite and professional communication via phone and in-person & provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operation.

  • Sort and organize donations received by the public.
  • Answer phone calls and support visitors by answering questions and requests.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as data entry and filing.
  • Perform light office cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  1. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  2. Strong customer service.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Administrative skills include the utilization of office equipment, data entry, and filing.
  5. Good communication skills both written and spoken.
  6. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days, as established by The Salvation Army. A Background Check is required before placement.
