Work Experience provides secondary school students with the opportunity to spend up to five days in a workplace, gaining valuable insight into local government and the wide range of careers available at Mornington Peninsula Shire.
Students can observe day to day activities, learn about different roles and develop an understanding of the skills and behaviours needed in the workplace. Tasks will be tailored to provide a meaningful learning experience and will be supervised by Shire staff.
Work Experience placements are designed to support learning and career exploration and do not involve specialist tasks that require extensive training or qualifications.
To ensure placements are safe, supported and meet Victorian Education requirements, all Work Experience arrangements must be completed in partnership with the student's school and comply with relevant Department of Education guidelines.
