Welcome to RSVP -- the hub for Kent County volunteers 55+ to connect to each other and meaningful volunteer opportunities. You're invited to pursue your passions, fulfill your purpose and empower others as an RSVP volunteer tackling tough challenges. You will join America's largest volunteer network and have access to the support and infrastructure of AmeriCorps Seniors to offer tools and opportunities that equip volunteers for success. You will have the opportunity to grow and expand your skills and ultimately to know you have made a positive impact in your community.

Volunteer Service Areas
Tax Credit Assistance
Provide help to eligible homeowners and renters access to property tax and home heating credits. No tax experience required. We provide our volunteers the training and ongoing support. The program uses an online tool to simplify the screening and application process. A background check is required.
This program is offered in coordination with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program.
Ready to Serve
Ready to Serve opportunities are flexible and varied. These are often one-time opportunities or special events for which RSVP partners need a little extra support. They could include:
- Helping at a school's holiday shop
- Assembling mailings or intake folders
- Supporting at an event
- Being a guest reader
- delivering emergency meal boxes
Signing up for Ready to Serve will send you notifications when a new opportunity is added and you can decide then if it's a good fit for you!
Elementary Students
Support elementary students with building key academic and social skills. Opportunities include:
- Language Links Tutor
- Reading Buddies
- Pen Pals

Food and Nutrition
Help provide nourishing food and show care to community members who are facing a medical crisis or who are homebound. Prepare, package, and/or deliver the meals. Interested in hearing about other ways to support wellness and nutrition - let us know! A background check is required.
Handy/Home Repairs
Improve the quality of life by utilizing your fix-it skills and working with your hands. Opportunities include helping to:
- perform minor home repairs.
- refurbish gently used mobility equipment.
A background check is required.
Administrative/Office Roles
Support RSVP partner organizations with a range of administrative projects. Opportunities range from 1 time to on-going.
Volunteer Police Opportunities
Unique opportunity to support local police departments with neighborhood services or other support duties in the department. Schedules and time commitment required varies by location.
