Current Volunteer Opportunities / Oportunidades actuales

GED tutor at Rockwood Library (in-person)

Partner with an adult studying for the GED test through in-person tutoring sessions. Start dates are flexible and our Adult Literacy team will match you with a learner and provide training.

We are especially looking for people who:

  • Have GED tutoring experience - preferred
  • Want to support adults preparing for the GED exam
  • Able to volunteer in person at Rockwood Library
  • Are 18 years or older and willing to submit to a criminal record check (paid for by the library)
  • Can commit to volunteering 30-90 minute tutoring sessions each week for at least 3 months
  • Volunteers needed for Wednesdays 10am-12pm, but other schedules available

Tutor - GED (in-person at multiple locations)

Partner with an adult studying for the GED test through one-on-one in-person or virtual tutoring sessions. Start dates are flexible and our Adult Literacy team will match you with a learner and provide training.

We are especially looking for people who:

  • Have GED tutoring experience - preferred
  • Want to support adults preparing for the GED exam
  • Preferred experience teaching/tutoring math or English
  • Able to volunteer in person at the Kenton Library or other locations including virtual platforms. 
  • Are 18 years or older and willing to submit to a criminal record check (paid for by the library)
  • Can commit to volunteering 30-90 minute tutoring sessions each week for at least 3 months
