Our all-around training prepares you for:

Gate Greeter

Gate Greeter volunteers create a welcoming environment for visitors through excellent customer service and sharing the history, mission, vision, and values of RMF and/or the Mott Family. This position helps collect simple data about daily visitors through zip code sheets and experience surveys.


 

Visitor Services Desk

Visitor Services Desk Support volunteers create a welcoming environment for visitors through excellent customer service and sharing the history, mission, vision, and values of RMF and/or the Mott Family. The Visitor Services information desk includes more in-depth visitor support such as cash and credit book sales, wheelchair/stroller access, and the Taste of Applewood (TOA) food sample program.

 

Education Support (Storytime, Field Trips)

Education Support volunteers provide outstanding visitor experiences and reinforce the “Big Idea” by helping to facilitate programs for groups of all ages and abilities with hands-on activities.

STORYTIME is held every Friday. FIELD TRIPS are scheduled as requested. 

Area/Self-Guided House Tour Guide

Area House Tour Guides provide outstanding visitor experiences and reinforce the “Big Idea” by assisting staff during daily public self-guided tour hours, ensuring the security of historical items while engaging visitors in conversation, observations, and history about the Mott home and family.

Horticulture Support

Horticulture support volunteers will assist the horticulture team in creating a welcoming environment by caring for the grounds, gardens, and orchards. Activities may include annual planting in June, weeding, deadheading, thinning and harvesting fruit, washing pots, or other horticulture needs that ensure the community enjoys all Applewood has to offer during the open season.

Orchard Thinning/Harvesting Support

Orchard support volunteers will assist the horticulture team in caring for the various fruiting trees around the estate, including the apple orchard. Activities may include  thinning and harvesting fruit, washing tools, or other horticulture needs that ensure the health and continued production of the trees.

Community Ambassador

Community Ambassadors share the history, mission, vision, and values of RMF and/or the Mott Family by assisting the Visitor Services, Communications, and Education team members serving as RMF representatives at on- and off-site community events.
