Volunteer Pool: As venue operations volunteer you will have the opportunity to support all aspects of our museums or attractions day-to-day operations alongside our venue team. You could find yourself welcoming visitors at our front desk, bringing to life our wide variety of displays and exhibitions with your fantastic storytelling, working with our duty-management team to coordinate venue operations or even work in our café serving a variety of refreshments and beverages. Full training for all aspects of the role will be provided.
Behind the Scenes: As behind the scenes volunteer you will have the opportunity to support all aspects of our museums, art centres and attractions to ensure they look fantastic and are ready for anything. You could find yourself using your practical skills to prepare venues for events and programming, supporting to look after your venue’s extensive gardens, buildings or exhibits or any other hands-on work needed onsite. Full training for all aspects of the role will be provided.
Collections: As collections volunteer you will have the opportunity to support our vital work of changing lives, through culture by working with our collections. You could find yourself working with our specialist collections team to document, categories and coordinate our collections using specialist tools. Using your training in collections care you may find yourself caring for our collections in line with venue and trust-wide collection management plans. Full training for all aspects of the role will be provided.
Exhibitions and Research: As research and exhibitions volunteer you will have the opportunity to work with our expert programming team to bring to life the variety of exhibitions and programming across our venues. You could find yourself working with our exhibition technicians team to apply your hands on technical skills in setting up venues for programming and special events. Or you could be behind the scenes researching and bringing to life the histories of our areas and collections within our venues. Full training for all aspects of the role will be provided.
Specialist: As a specialist volunteer you will have the opportunity to support our vital work of changing lives, through culture by using your skills, knowledge and experience to deliver with support from our teams. You could find yourself working with specific projects and programmes where you expertise and knowledge supports our work or even taking on specialist lead roles within the team relevant to your experience. Specialist opportunities are limited to trust needs and will be dependant on venue / HCT needs.
