A current opportunity is COPPs - Citizens on Patrol, a crime-prevention partnership with the RCMP.
The Meadow Lake R.C.M.P. and the Meadow Lake Citizens On Patrol Program are dedicated to the reduction of crime and vandalism, and the improvement of the quality of life in the community. This cooperative effort will help in the discovery, reporting and, ultimately, in the police apprehending those persons responsible for criminal activity in the community.
The Citizens On Patrol Program members are committed to working in partnership with the police to fight crime and remove the criminal element from Meadow Lake. They will serve as the extra eyes and ears of the police department. It shall be the role of the members to observe and report their observations to police personnel. Citizens On Patrol Program members are never to pursue or attempt to apprehend persons suspected of or actually involved in any crime or offence.
