Role Purpose:

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated & supportive team and will give you an introduction to working with learners. This is an excellent opportunity to build & develop your confidence and skills whilst working within an education environment.

As a Volunteer Classroom Assistant, you will work under the instruction/guidance of the student services manager and tutor to facilitate the smooth delivery of teaching and learning.

 Skills Required:

Successful completion of Volunteering – Supporting your Community course & interview

  • Ability to establish positive relationships with others
  • Excellent communication & listening skills
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
  • Enthusiasm, energy, adaptability & patience
  • Good IT skills
  • Level 2 English & Maths qualifications

Training:

We will provide training relevant and support for the role, this includes customer service, health and safety and data protection training using the council’s iLearn Training system, courses include;

You must be committed to a minimum of 2.5 hours per week for 1 academic year
