Why volunteer? Volunteers are given the opportunity to meet new people and assist those in need while contributing to the community. In collaboration with staff and resident,  CapitalCare works to design rewarding volunteer programs that offer volunteers various roles throughout the CapitalCare Long Term Care homes.  Our volunteers commit to assisting patients, their families and staff, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Commitment requirement for all volunteer programs is at least 30 hours

If you think that volunteering with CapitalCare is right for you and you are able to meet the commitment requirements, just follow the steps below:

 

 

Step 1: Click the [Fill in an Application] button on the right–hand side of this page and complete the application form. Ensure you check off the program you are interested in volunteering for. Only the programs that are being recruited for will be available to select.

**If the program in which you are interested in volunteering for is not available to select at this time, please try checking back at a later date. Program recruitment is based on need and can change at any time. **

 

 

Step 2:  The designated Coordinator of Volunteer Services for the specific site you are interested in volunteering at will review all submitted applications, but only those that meet the requirements, availability and interest of the program will be contacted for an interview. If you have not been contacted after three months of submitting your application, you may reapply.

 

 

Step 3:  Once you have completed the interview process and you are chosen to fill a position, you will be asked to complete our volunteer onboarding process which includes:

 

  • Complete a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screen, if required)
  • Attend an onsite orientation (2 hour time commitment)
  • Provide 2 references
  • Complete a TB Assessment Form 
  • Sign and complete a Confidentiality Form
  • Sign a photo and media consent form
  • Sign a volunteer agreement highlighting commitment and expectations 

 

Step 4:   After you have been accepted for volunteering you will receive your ID badge and be set up with any additional training necessary to be successful in your new volunteer role.
