Jalna Library - Chess For Kids
Purpose:
To facilitate and assist children ages 6+ with the game of Chess in a library branch.
Time Commitment: Weekly shifts, 2 hrs in length
Age requirement: 14+
Meeting dates/times: Thursdays from 4:15 pm to 6:15 pm
Locations:
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Offer assistance, or lead players through Chess offered at the library
- Create a safe and positive environment for players to learn and play with confidence
- Explain game objectives and goals to new players
- Provide guidance for strategies, by communicating with players in the game while playing with others
- Share ideas and goals of games in a way that moves players forward in a fun and collegial environment
- Encourage conversation between players, especially when team game platforms are part of the strategy

- Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check for 18+
Training & Other requirements:
- Training will be provided at the library as needed
