London Public Library

Ushers assist patrons during performances at the Wolf Performance Hall.  

Time Commitment:  minimum 1 shift a month, shifts are 3 - 4 hrs in length

Age requirement: 14+

Meeting dates/time: This role has a flexible schedule based on program needs. primarily on weekday evenings, but occasionally on weekends

Tasks & responsibilities: 

• Become familiar with the Central branch of the London Public Library
• Become familiar with the Wolf Performance Hall
• Take tickets into performances
• Give directions to patrons during performances
• Assist people to their seats for performances
• Ensure patrons follow guidelines around food and drink, cell phones, etc.
• Assist security in the case of an emergency

Skills & qualifications: 

• Able to walk up and down the aisles and stairs of the Wolf Performance Hall without difficulty
• Able to stand for up to 1 hour at a time
• Comfortable assisting people in the case of emergency
• Able to communicate clearly to a diverse group of patrons
• Excellent customer service skills
  
• Dependability

Training & other requirements:

• Training will be provided at the library as needed
