Craik, Davidson, Kyle, Lucky Lake, Dinsmore or Outlook Meals on Wheels Associate

Meals on Wheels volunteers play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals to clients who have been assessed as needing support with their nutrition. 

This role offers a rewarding experience, allowing volunteers to develop communication skills, gain new job-related skills, establish a consistent routine, and contribute to their community in a meaningful way.

Volunteers will collect meals from the designated location at a set time and deliver them directly to clients homes. Shifts typically occur during lunchtime hours, with routes available in Craik, Davidson, Kyle, Lucky Lake, Dinsmore and Outlook.

 

 

Craik & District Health Centre Entertainment Provider

Provider volunteers offer mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents through various activities.
 
These include group choirs, bands, piano/guitar recitals, dance groups, school entertainment, old - time dancing, singers, storytellers and more.
 
Activities will always have supervision.
 
Shifts vary dependent on group availability but generally take place:  Monday to Sunday  10:00 am - 4:00 pm 

Craik & District Health Centre Palliative Care Associate

Volunteers will offer one to one visiting and socialization. They will offer and deliver comfort items to patient's and families. Communicate with the Palliative Care Coordinator for connection with additional supports.

Potential Volunteers must complete Palliative Care Training Program per the Palliative Care Coordinator. Must be comfortable with patients at the end of life and have the ability to function in an emotionally stressful environment. Must be comfortable in a healthcare setting, accepting and open minded.

Palliative Care Coordinator will provide Palliative Care Volunteer Training, roles of volunteer and boundaries, dying process and on-site orientation.

Shifts will vary depending upon the client's needs.  Mornings, afternoons, or evenings. 

Craik & District Health Centre Recreation Associate

A Recreation Associate helps facilitate a variety of activities at the site, encouraging resident participation and engagement. They work alongside long-term care staff, offering additional support to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life of residents.

Activities may include, games, puzzles, crafts, reading, baking, exercising, walking, decorating, spa services, special outings, social visits and more. 

Shifts are available based on local programming schedules.  

Davidson & District Health Centre LTC Entertainment Provider

 
Provider volunteers offer mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents through various activities.
 
These activities include group choirs, bands, individual piano players, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment, old time dancing groups, storytellers and more.
 
 

Davidson & District Health Centre LTC - Recreation Activities Volunteer

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities. 

Recreation Associates are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the long term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

Activities include, but are not limited to:  Reading groups, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties, teas, birthday parties and group outings.

 

Dinsmore Health Centre Entertainment Provider

Provider volunteers offer mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents through various activities.
 
These activities include group choirs, bands, individual piano players, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment, old time dancing groups, storytellers and more.
 
Shifts vary from individual to group depending on Activities calendar.

Craik & District Home Care Wellness Clinic Ambassador

Wellness Clinic Ambassadors help create a welcoming and supportive environment for attendees by greeting clients, assisting with wayfinding, and promoting the clinic. They provide friendly reminders for clients to book future appointments, bring in health cards, medication lists, and they ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all attendees.

Wellness clinics are held throughout the year and shift times are roughly 3-5 hours and usually take place in the mornings. 

 

Kyle Health Centre - Recreation Associate

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities while encouraging client/resident participation. 
Recreation Associates are valued as the "extra pair of helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Continuing Care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents.
Activities include, but are not limited to: reading groups, puzzles, games, Bingo, nail painting, walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, special holiday events, teas, birthday parties, volunteer outings, and more!

Kyle Health Centre - Youth Associate

This position allows high school students to volunteer their time and efforts in Acute and Continuing Care.  They will gain experience and knowledge regarding duties and careers available within our facilities.
Career and Work Experience placements, wellness credits, and work experience programs are available but dependent on availability.
 
Duties may include: restocking carts (robes, slippers, toiletries), delivering water and snacks to patients, visiting, playing cards, reading, fingernail painting, seasonal decorating, assisting with recreational events and shadowing nursing staff.

Lucky Lake Health Centre - Recreation Activities Associate

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site.  They encourage client's participation in activities. 

Recreation Associates are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the long term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

Activities include, but are not limited to:  Reading groups, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties, teas, birthday parties, volunteer group outings.

The Volunteer will provide extra supervision, watching of exits and support recreation activities.

This will allow more camp participants and the staff to offer undivided attention to the participants with extra help available to them.
