i. St. Joseph's Villa - Resident Lapghan Program
Volunteers needed for the creation of 4" X 4" lapghans. Lapghans are provided through our onsite Chaplain to a neighbouring resident to welcome a new resident upon admission, encouraging warm welcoming friendships to develop. Each resident is provided with a lapghan to use on a daily basis to warm them during activities, wear on their lap during chapel services, or shoulders or as needed. They remind the resident that the home environment is friendly and comradeship surrounds them with compassion, care and support.
If you are interested in quilting or knitting for elderly seniors living in Long Term Care, please contact the Volunteer Services Office at (705) 674-4447, ext. 1330.
