Events & Fundraising

Event and Fundraising volunteers assist with a range of events,  with the planning, preparation, operation / running of events, joining an events committee, taking on leadership roles and assisting within the event on the day / night. 


  • Enthusiastic, outgoing personality
  • Willing to engage with a wide range of people
  • Good organisational skills and communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and use initiative
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 


  • 3 – 4 hours minimum for events
  • Must volunteer at least twice a year
  • Daytime, weekend and evening availability according to each separate event
  • Attend briefing sessions pre, during and post events where necessary
  • Team meetings prior to busy times, e.g. Pride Festival


  • Successful completion of Introductory Training
  • Events briefings
  • Food and drinks handling if required



Volunteers who work with Events Outreach will gain a number of skills, such as:

  • Experience in event environment
  • Ticket Sales
  • Food Service
  • Serving  Drinks (RSA required)
  • Greeting Guests
  • Event set up and pack down
  • Meeting WAAC staff and other Volunteers
