Events & Fundraising
Event and Fundraising volunteers assist with a range of events, with the planning, preparation, operation / running of events, joining an events committee, taking on leadership roles and assisting within the event on the day / night.
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
- Enthusiastic, outgoing personality
- Willing to engage with a wide range of people
- Good organisational skills and communication skills
- Ability to take direction and use initiative
- Ability to work well in a team environment
TIME COMMITMENT
- 3 – 4 hours minimum for events
- Must volunteer at least twice a year
- Daytime, weekend and evening availability according to each separate event
- Attend briefing sessions pre, during and post events where necessary
- Team meetings prior to busy times, e.g. Pride Festival
TRAINING
- Successful completion of Introductory Training
- Events briefings
- Food and drinks handling if required
SKILLS
Volunteers who work with Events Outreach will gain a number of skills, such as:
- Experience in event environment
- Ticket Sales
- Food Service
- Serving Drinks (RSA required)
- Greeting Guests
- Event set up and pack down
- Meeting WAAC staff and other Volunteers
