This activity is self-directed therefore after you have completed your orientation session you volunteer on your own schedule. Volunteers monitor, stock and maintain large metal jobsite boxes that have been placed in City of Abbotsford Parks. These Playboxes are filled with sport and play equipment that can be accessed by registering to receive the lock code.

I am interested in volunteering with children in RECREATION programs at ARC, MRC or other City of Abbotsford facilities.
After you have completed your orientation and interview sessions, had your Criminal Records Review, and references approved, you may sign up for specific posted shift opportunities in this area to work with children aged 0-12 at ARC, MRC or other City of Abbotsford sites.

I am interested in volunteering with children with diverse abilities in programs at ARC and MRC.
This program is a volunteer program that seeks to provide 1:1 support to children with diverse abilities aged 3 to 12 years who may need assistance to participate in Abbotsford Parks, Recreation & Culture programs at ARC and MRC.

I love Special Events and helping behind the scenes to ensure events run smoothly.
Here in the City of Abbotsford we love to support events with a wide variety of volunteer options. Some of our City of Abbotsford events include Canada Day, Communities in Bloom, Involve and many smaller scale civic events. We also provide information about volunteer opportunities with many more community based events.

I care about fish and our oceans and I'm interested in volunteer opportunities to help educate people on how we can take care of them.
This activity is self-directed therefore after you have completed your orientation session you may choose when and where you volunteer. Volunteers are equipped with supplies to paint yellow fish near storm drains to remind residents that what goes into their drain matters.

I care about reducing our carbon foot print and I'm interested in volunteer opportunities for environmental public education.
This activity monitors specially designed garbage, compost and recycling bins through public education at special events.

I love beautifying our community and want to volunteer to pick up litter.
Register to join us and participate in our annual Community Clean-Up Month! This activity is self-directed therefore after you have completed your orientation session you get to choose when and where you volunteer. Community Clean-Up is a national campaign that encourages residents to volunteer to pick up litter in their communities which contributes to increased environmental stewardship and helps beautify neighbourhoods.
