BEER TENTS TEAM

Description 

The Beer Tents Team keeps the party rolling! They are responsible for the sale and service of drinks in our beer tents. This position is often fast-paced and physically demanding but provides an opportunity to meet many of the Fringe Artists and Patrons. Volunteers keep the party safe by monitoring consumption levels and cutting-off any Patron that over-consumes. All Volunteers on this team must have completed Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (AGLC) online ProServe certification. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • ID any Patron that appears under 25 years of age
  • Sell drinks to Fringe Patrons using point-of-sale software on a tablet
  • Serve drinks to Patrons
  • Ensure no Patron over-consumes
  • Bus tables and keep the beer tents tidy
  • Count and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of each shift 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Must have AGLC ProServe certification (if you don’t have ProServe, contact us for an activation ticket to complete the course) 
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Comfortable with cash handling
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent understanding and ability to communicate in spoken English 

 

Shift Length & Hours 

  • Shifts are approximately 4.5 hours in length 
  • Shifts occur between the hours of 11:30 AM to Midnight
