Health and Wellbeing - Cahoots - Disability Recreation Program - Sem 2 2022

Cahoots creates inclusive opportunities for young people living with a disability and others that face exceptional challenges to develop friendships, skills and confidence.  They run programs every Saturday with participants aged 5-17 years of age, and focus on recreational activities and friendship building. This program features a variety of adapted sport and community recreational activities, such as Bounce and AQWA, designed to build confidence and connections.

You can nominate what program interests you and whilst volunteering on Cahoots programs, all of the volunteer expenses are covered, including food, access to the activity and transport. There are no out of pocket costs.

The volunteer role includes having duty of care for their participant for the duration of the program. The volunteer assists with their NDIS goals which are heavily involved in social connections. The volunteer will be engaging with the participant and the activity, activities can evolve going to bounce, bowling, water parks, out for breakfast etc.

The volunteer will be in a group setting with other participants, volunteers, support workers and facilitators. The support workers are there to assist volunteers with any potential challenging behaviours.
