Health and Wellbeing - Red Carpet Cinema S2 2022

Red Carpet Cinema (RCC) offers a regular social outlet for self sustaining young adults with additional needs, offering independence and opportunities to foster friendship in a safe and fun environment.

RCC is usually held on the 3rd Friday of each month (see dates below). The hall is split up into 2 parts to mimic a foyer and a cinema. Upon arrival participants walk the red carpet and meet friends and student mentors. There is approximately an hour to socialise in the foyer or dance in the cinema before the movie.

A group of volunteers will help out with the following duties through the night:

  • Set up the hall
  • Facilitate social interaction and promote conversation in groups
  • Watch the movie with the participants, providing support and oversight
  • Clean up and pack down
