Redlands Community Centre - Volunteer Receptionist

Experienced Receptionist with strong admin skills wanted.

The Redland Community Centre is looking for a mature volunteer Receptionist available casually to cover holidays. You will have strong reception and admin skills. The successful candidate would be able to work across both the Capalaba and Wynnum offices.

As this is a client-facing role, the ideal candidate will have a friendly, positive attitude and the ability to work in a busy and dynamic work environment. 

Responsibilities include:

  • welcoming clients and visitors to the RCC
  • receiving incoming telephone calls and enquiries and recording and distributing messages accordingly
  • confirming counselling appointments by sending SMS messages to clients
  • providing information to clients regarding the Centre’s services and activities
  • accepting and recording clients for the Centre’s Emergency Relief Program
  • accepting and recording referrals for the Centre’s services and activities
  • assisting with day-to-day administrative and general tasks

Skills, Experience & Personal Qualities

  • strong computer skills

  • strong reception and administration skills 
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • the ability to multi-task
  • a willingness to help others with kindness and compassion
  • a commitment to working in the community sector

Successful applicants will be over 18 and have a Blue Card (or be prepared to obtain one).
