Programs - ICU2

Infants and Children Under Two

The ICU2 program fills the gap for young children following the Calgary Health Region Best Beginnings Program. Through donations from the Calgary community we are able provide essentials for children from birth to two years of age. The primary intent is to provide for the basic necessities of life and to give babies the best possible start in life. Currently we provide responses to clients of diapers, formula, bottles, cribs, strollers, car seats and many more supplies.

There is a great need for supplementary supplies for babies in low-income families to ensure they have the best start in life possible. It is our desire through our efforts in this area to improve the quality of life for the baby and the entire family and to give the parent(s) peace of mind in knowing that their baby’s needs are being met.

Through donations from the Calgary community we are able to provide families with items and resources required to ensure their baby is comfortable.

Programs - L.I.F.F.E. Support

Low Income Family Furniture Essentials Support

The LIFFE Support Program is designed specifically to provide support for basic household needs to low income families to help build comfortable, liveable homes.

A high percentage of our families do not possess furniture or household items, resulting in this program that assists families in securing adequate furnishings for their needs. It is not uncommon for a volunteer to find adults and children sleeping and eating on the floor. Through donations from the Calgary community we are able to provide families with all of the necessary items to set up an apartment – everything from a can opener to a bed and linens.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help neighbours in need through a network of community volunteers and donors expressing concern for their neighbours in practical ways.

Since 1993 we've been accepting donations of new and gently-used furniture, household items and baby supplies from the Calgary community and redistributing them to families in need.

Volunteers are an integral part of NeighbourLink's work in Calgary. We are privileged to be working with volunteers who are dedicated to helping Calgarians  living in poverty by sorting donations in our warehouse and delivering resources directly to their doorsteps.

Our Programs:
- Low Income Family Furniture Essentials (LIFFE Support)
- Infants & Children Under 2 (ICU2)
