Toolbox Assistant

A small crew of volunteers keeps the Canberra Community Toolbox humming - helping members find what they need, checking items in and out, and making sure everything's ready for the next shift. It's friendly, easy-going - if occasionally a little hectic during busy times - and you'll quickly get to know the regulars.
You don't need to know one end of a drill from the other. What matters is that you're comfortable with a computer, happy to have a chat and help people out, and can lift up to 15kg.
What a shift looks like:
You'll spend your time processing loans and returns using our borrowing platform (including preparing items to go out, and checking in returned items and putting them back in place) and keeping the space tidy and organised - all under the guidance of an experienced shift supervisor.
Time commitment:
Shifts are Saturday 10am – 1pm or Thursday 5pm – 7:30pm. Most volunteers do one shift a fortnight, but we're flexible - life happens. We'd be happy with once a month!
What you'll need:
A current Working With Vulnerable People Card (they're available from Access Canberra and FREE if you're a volunteer).
