Tool Bus Driver

Do you enjoy driving and want to help bring the Toolbox to Canberrans who can't easily make it to Watson? The Tool Bus takes reserved items to members across the city, making the Toolbox accessible to more of the community - and you'd be the one making it happen.

It's a sociable, active role with a clear sense of purpose. You'll be out and about across Canberra on a Saturday morning, meeting Toolbox members at their local stop and getting items into their hands.

What a shift looks like:
You'll start at Watson at around 8:30am, packing the bus with items reserved for pickup, then drive to two stops -
1. Minns Place, Weston: 10am - 11am
2. Fadden Pines, Tuggeranong: 11:30am - 12:30pm

At each stop, you'll wait for members to drop by and pick up their reserved items, or return items they're finished with. Once the run is done, you'll head back to Watson.

Time commitment:
One Saturday morning when you can make it. We're flexible - once a fortnight is wonderful, once a month is genuinely helpful.

What you'll need:
Experience as a Toolbox assistant, a current full driver's licence, confidence driving a loaded van, and a current Working With Vulnerable People Card (available from Access Canberra and FREE for volunteers). You'll also need to be comfortable with a bit of lifting.
