The 2026 Melbourne Royal Show runs from Thursday 24, September to Sunday 4, October at the Melbourne showgrounds for one of Victoria’s oldest celebrations of community, agriculture and family.
Our volunteers are at the heart of the Show’s legacy. They help create lifelong memories, bring excitement, passion and joy to thousands of visitors each year.
As Melbourne Royal Show volunteers, you will have an enhanced access to the Show, the opportunity to get up close to the animals and work with a great group of people, all while becoming part of a tradition that has brought people together for generations.

Customer Service Support

Customer Service Support will provide frontline assistance across the Showgrounds, including greeting guests, supporting wayfinding, assisting with crowd movement and contributing to the prevention of lost children. |
Animal Nursery & Activity Assistants
 |

Animal Nursery and Activity Assistants will support a range of activities across the Showgrounds, including supervising participation areas, managing queues for popular attractions while helping create a safe, fun, and memorable environment. |
Animal Activation Assistants
 |

Animal Activation Assistants will support the presentation and maintenance of animal display while providing a safe, informative and engaging experience for visitors. |
Create Space Assistants

Create Space Assistants will help in our hands-on workshop area featuring a variety of creative activities, particularly popular with children and families. |
Volunteer Team Leaders

| Volunteer Team Leaders will provide guidance, coordination and day-to-day oversight of volunteers, ensuring they are supported, informed and able to deliver a high standard of customer service while having a memorable experience. |

The Melbourne Royal show is Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event that attracts around 450,000 people over 11 days to Melbourne Showgrounds each year.
