Program Development - State Indian Museum
Docents are highly trained volunteers who interpret the cultural, natural, and recreational features of the State Indian Museum for visitors of all ages.
Docents will receive initial training with continued opportunities for development and enrichment. These, along with your own unique talents and approach, allow California State Parks to provide visitors with meaningful and memorable experiences.
The State Indian Museum is currently looking for docents and volunteers to help propose, plan, develop, and offer new Native-themed programs at the museum. These may include:
- Public and school tours of the museum and native plant landscaping around the park.
- Monthly pop-up exhibits for Activity Day (offered every 3rd Saturday of the month)
- Native film screenings
- Hands-on workshops and activities
- Game tournaments and competitions
- AND MORE!
If you enjoy meeting new people, are passionate about sharing, and enjoy interacting with the public, a docent position may be a good fit for you!
