Museum Support
Responsible for facilitating the role-playing experience for children & will be assigned to volunteer in the interactive learning spaces. They will help reset the exhibit spaces, interact with the children, staff, and fellow volunteers to provide a fun & creative environment for all guests.
Exhibit support volunteers will work on the museum floor alongside staff members. They will wear Pretend City volunteer uniform. Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of 3 hours a month and 15 hours total minimum. They will be able to schedule their shifts anytime during museum hours but they must be able to attend their first shift on a weekday. Volunteers will be required to attend a 2 hour training on our museum policies and procedure as well as how to interact with children in the museum. Volunteers over 18 are subject to a background check
Tasks
- Assist staff on the museum floor by interacting and engaging with children in assigned exhibits
- Reset and sanitize props in exhibits
- Use volunteer management software to schedule and track shifts
- Fill out feedback forms
Skills
- The ability to engage with and play with children
