Parks Host Volunteer
Position Description:
Parks Host Volunteers welcome visitors to the park facilities, answer questions about resident plants and animals, as well as the cultural history of the area, and direct guests to other park resources and information. Sanctuary Hosts may also introduce short interpretive activities with provided biofacts.
Volunteers work outdoors for three-hour shifts from spring to fall at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet park visitors and provide information about the park’s physical layout, amenities, and etiquette
- Deliver brief, informative, and interactive interpretive activities to visitors
- Answer visitor questions and direct visitors to further resources
- Promote upcoming Parks programming
- Complete shift reports online
- Schedule and report volunteer hours using the Better Impact volunteer database
