St. John's United - Intake

Offer a comforting presence to a dying elder when the elder does not want to be alone. This may look like: holding hands, watching TV, reading the bible or a favorite book, sitting quietly, singing/playing music, and calling the nurse if the elder has a need

Location of volunteer position: St. John’s Lutheran Home, Main Campus on West End

Time commitment:  Vigils are sporadic and unpredictable.  2 hour shifts are available on an as-needed basis

Qualifications and requirements: Background check, HIPAA Training; TB Test and Flu Shot
