Help to reduce isolation and make a positive impact in the life of a senior person.
genU’s Social Support Home Visiting Program supports older people who may be feeling isolated and lonely, to feel connected to their local community.
Our volunteer visitors are matched to an older person. By visiting your client, you will build a meaningful connection. Your visits could include:
- Conversation and reminiscing
- Listening to music
- Playing cards or board games
- Looking at photo albums
- Sharing stories
With a little effort, you can make a significant difference to someone’s life.
Clients will be accessing aged care funded services, such as entry level support at home, advanced support at home or Residential Aged Care.
The essential details: Be matched with a senior person in your local area. Visit them in their own home or aged care facility.
Support with screening, induction and ongoing guidance provided by your Volunteer Coordinator.
Role hours: Hours are flexible and bite-sized (up to 2 hours a week), during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm.
