The Mission of Mercy is a free dental clinic for adults with services provided by volunteer dental professionals. Since 2013, Catholic Charities DC has partnered with the dental societies of Southern Maryland and Mid-Maryland to host six Mission of Mercy dental clinics. During the last event in 2019, 1,000 adults received dental care they otherwise would not have received thanks to the work of 500 dental professionals and 500 general volunteers and the support of sponsors and partners.
Due to COVID restrictions, in lieu of the annual 3-day Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic, Catholic Charities plans to hold ten 1-day “Mini” MOM free dental clinics. The “Mini” MOMs will take place monthly at Catholic Charities three existing dental clinics. Volunteers are still needed. Feel free to contact MOM@cc-dc.org for more information.
