Foundations Kitchen Cooking Team Volunteer
- Purpose: Prepare nutritious dinners for shelter guests and program participants.
- What You Will Do: Assist staff in cooking 150–170 meals, follow food safety, clean up kitchen.
- Time Commitment: 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm.
- Skills Needed: Teamwork, reliability, ability to follow instructions.
- Requirements: Orientation and adherence to Food Safe guidelines.
Serving Team Volunteer
- Purpose: Plate and serve meals in a welcoming, respectful manner.
- What You Will Do: Plate meals, deliver to tables, refill water, clear and wipe tables.
- Time Commitment: 5:30 pm – 7:15 pm.
- Skills Needed: Kindness, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Requirements: Orientation and compliance with serving guidelines.
Meal Host
- Purpose: Oversee meal service flow and create a hospitable environment.
- What You Will Do: Greet volunteers, organize plating and serving, offer short devotional or blessing, assist with cleanup.
- Time Commitment: 5:40 pm – 7:20 pm.
- Skills Needed: Leadership, communication, calm under pressure.
- Requirements: Orientation and familiarity with RAN values.
Yale Road Kitchen Support Volunteer
- Purpose: Support the kitchen team to prepare and serve three daily meals for residents and program participants.
- What You Will Do: Assist with food prep (washing, chopping, portioning), help serve meals, wash dishes, sanitize work areas, maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Time Commitment: Daily, weekly, or on-call.
- Skills Needed: Comfort in a kitchen environment, ability to follow directions, respect and compassion for residents.
- Requirements: Orientation, adherence to food safety protocols, closed-toe shoes and hair tied back.
