Mentorship Roles
Purpose: Walk alongside participants with encouragement, practical support, and goal-focused check-ins that promote stability and growth.
What You Will Do: Build supportive connections through regular meetings or activity-based engagement. Listen, encourage, and help with practical goals such as appointments, life skills practice, and community participation. Collaborate with staff to align mentorship with each person’s care plan and boundaries. Model consistency, hope, and respect.
Time Commitment: One regular meeting per week or bi-weekly for 60–90 minutes, plus occasional messages to confirm schedules. Ideal Skills: Empathy, reliability, clear boundaries, and comfort supporting adults who may be rebuilding from homelessness or addiction. Willingness to learn RAN’s approach to harm reduction and recovery.
Requirements: Orientation, Criminal Record Check, agreement with RAN values, and mentorship guidelines. Some roles may require additional training depending on program.Reporting To: Program staff for the participant’s site.Location: Family Centre, The Grove, Yale Road, or other program spaces. Meetings may include on-site activities or community outings approved by staff.
