Barber and Hairdressers
Purpose: Provide dignifying haircuts and basic hair care that help participants feel seen, confident, and ready for next steps.
What You Will Do: Offer professional haircuts and simple styling appropriate to each person’s preference. Create a welcoming experience, maintain cleanliness, and follow hygiene and safety standards. Coordinate with staff to schedule sessions and manage flow. Share tips for basic maintenance when helpful.
Time Commitment: Typically 2–3 hours per service block. Monthly or by special event, depending on availability.
Ideal Skills: Licensed or experienced barber or hairdresser, strong interpersonal skills, and a calm, respectful presence.
Requirements: Orientation, Criminal Record Check, adherence to hygiene and tool-safety protocols. Bring sanitized tools; RAN can provide disposable capes and basic supplies when available.
Reporting To: Site staff coordinating the service day.
Location: Family Centre, The Grove, Interchange or program-specific locations.
