Current Volunteer Roles
Women’s Recovery Support Volunteer
- Purpose: Create a safe, welcoming environment and assist with daily program activities.
- What You Will Do: Help set up spaces, support recreational or life-skills activities, offer encouragement during group times.
- Time Commitment: Flexible scheduled shifts.
- Skills Needed: Patience, respect, ability to follow instructions.
- Requirements: Orientation and adherence to program guidelines.
Women’s Recovery Mentor
- Purpose: Provide one-on-one encouragement and guidance to women in recovery.
- What You Will Do: Meet regularly with participants, listen actively, help set goals, celebrate progress.
- Time Commitment: Weekly or biweekly.
- Skills Needed: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, ability to maintain healthy boundaries.
- Requirements: Orientation and screening (may include references).
Women’s Recovery AA/NA Driver
- Purpose: Ensure participants can attend AA or NA meetings by providing safe transportation.
- What You Will Do: Drive participants to and from meetings, confirm pickup times, maintain punctuality.
- Time Commitment: Scheduled evenings.
- Skills Needed: Reliability, safe driving, respect for confidentiality.
- Requirements: Orientation, valid license, clean driver’s abstract.
Women’s Recovery Workshop Leader
- Purpose: Lead practical or creative workshops that build confidence and life skills.
- What You Will Do: Plan and deliver sessions on topics like budgeting, job readiness, cooking, fitness, or art.
- Time Commitment: Scheduled sessions (weekly or monthly).
- Skills Needed: Subject expertise, facilitation skills, patience.
- Requirements: Orientation and Criminal Record Check; relevant experience is an asset.
