Volunteering - Cattery Aide: Dishes & Litter Pans

Duties

The role of the Cattery Aide: Dishes and Litter Pans volunteer is to assist cattery staff with the daily duties of maintaining a healthy and happy environment for our cats by helping to provide clean dishes and litter pans.

General Responsibilities

  • Wash and sort food and water dishes.
  • Wash litter pans, and fill with clean litter as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment (Provided)

  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses

Shift Times
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. -- 7 days a week

Qualifications

Greenhill Humane Society has the following requirements for participation in this position.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, and maneuver well in tight spaces for significant periods of time.
  • Ability to work around strong odors and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach and lift in order access and put away supplies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with cattery staff and other volunteers.


Cognitive Capabilities

  • Ability to understand, remember, and follow instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, or in a parent/youth or support team, while knowing when to ask for help if needed.
  • Basic understanding of cats, their body language and behavior.
  • Ability to adhere to safety standards by wearing personal protective equipment.
