Modbury Hospital - Emergency
The purpose of the Emergency Department volunteer program at Modbury Hospital is to work in partnership with paid staff of the Department, to enhance the quality of the ‘Emergency Department Experience’ for patients as well as the relatives and friends of the patients.
Volunteer Duties
- Initiating conversations with people in need of listening ear, as directed by nursing staff.
- Offering families and friends of the patient refreshments when applicable to help increase their comfort level.
- Being aware of all OHS requirements for Volunteers and helping to maintain a safe work environment for both NHVA volunteers and local staff.
- Separating of the individual stock supplies within the main storeroom and restocking shelves.
- Folding and shelving of various disposable sheets and bags within the storeroom.
- Restocking of gloves and Personal Protective Equipment outside patient rooms.
- Restocking blanket warmer stations.
- Restocking and hand sanitiser dispensers within the ward.
Hours
- Monday to Friday - Morning 9.00am to 1.00pm
